The Perthes syndrome: a case report

L'association de pétéchies cervico-faciales et d'hémorragies sous-conjonctivales à des manifestations neurologiques définit le syndrome de Perthes ou syndrome d'asphyxie traumatique. Ce syndrome apparaît après une compression thoracique ou thoraco-abdominale post-traumatique brutale et brève sur un thorax hypergonflé comme une manœuvre de Valsalva. En général, le pronostic est favorable. Les lésions associées et la durée de la compression thoracique jouent un rôle.
